Mumbles U7s travelled to Dunvant for their first ever competitive fixture, taking part in a round-robin event against Dunvant, Morriston and Loughor.
It was a fantastic morning of rugby and a brilliant first experience for the team. Every player contributed, and it was great to see so much of what we’ve been working on in training coming into their games.
There were some fantastic tries scored throughout the morning, along with some brilliant running, passing and support play. More importantly, the whole squad showed great enthusiasm, teamwork and determination, with some excellent defending on display too.
Thank you to Rory Gallagher for stepping in and doing a fantastic job refereeing throughout the morning, and to all of our coaches for their help and support in making the day run so smoothly.
U8
Mumbles U8's welcomed Loughor and Penlan to Underhill..some great skills on show from all boys and some impressive tagging from Wil Edwards. We welcome Noah Dundon and Brody Steele into the U8 set up..
U9
Mumbles U9’s first foray into contact rugby was welcomed on Sunday at Vardre RFC.
The team got better and better with each match, once tackling confidence grew and attacking shape resumed following a derby match against South Gower.
Special mention to Niko on picking up hulk of the week, for tireless running and tackling on his first run out for mumbles.
Heroic efforts across the team with six matches on a wide park!

U10
Mumbles U10’s welcomed Glyneath for our first fixture of the year. The rule changes didn’t stop Mumbles comfortably outscoring Glyneath with the whole squad contributing to some very well worked tries.
U11
Mumbles U11 travelled to Pontyberem for their first game of the season.
The match opened at a fierce pace with a try from the pacey Pontyberem centre opening the scoring. Unfortunately for them, that’s it for the hosts as Mumbles managed the ball superbly, secured ruck ball, moved the ball to space well and were a constant threat at the breakdown.
Mumbles scored 13 unanswered tries but in credit to Pontyberem they fought till the bitter end. Didn’t complain, kept playing and worked hard for one and other.
A good start for the U11’s.
U12
Mumbles U12s Start Season with Victory at Gowerton
Mumbles started brightly, opening the scoring through Ed Johnson, with Benoit Poudens adding the conversion. Gowerton responded with two tries to take the lead into half time.
The second half saw a much improved Mumbles performance. The forwards laid the platform with a physical display and the defence stepped up impressively. Tries from Luka George, Owen Cochlin and Noah Hikary swung the game back in Mumbles favour.
Final Score: Gowerton 14-26 Mumbles
U13
Mumbles Under 13s travelled to Morriston RFC for their first fixture, but it wasn’t the start to the season they were hoping for, with Morriston taking a comfortable victory. Despite the result, the boys created plenty of promising chances throughout the game but were unable to convert enough of those opportunities into points. There is plenty to work on in training this week as the team looks to regroup, learn from the experience and prepare for another challenging fixture away at Trebanos next week
U14
Mumbles U14s hosted Gorseinon at Underhill for their first game of the season. A fixture that is always tight, the game did not disappoint. Mumbles dominated territory in the first half but could not quite convert the pressure into points with stubborn defence frustrating us. The dead lock finally broke with Kobe Bollam crashing over and with desperate Gors defence keeping out a well worked try in the corner left the score 7-0 at half time. Conceding a yellow card meant we conceded an early try in the second but with sound tactical kicking pinning the opposition back and a penalty from Finn G the game ended with a Mumbles win 10-5.

We open the season with two new team mates joining from Bryncoch and play championship finalists Deri from the Darran Valley. Mumbles scored three quick tries by Theo Delullio, new signing Ethan Jones and Seth Beynon all converted by Cai Clement Deri score second half with Will Pincott Davies touching down for a final score of 26-7.
